Pirates sticking with pitching rotation

Pirates sticking with pitching rotation
Barring any weather-related postponements in tonight or tomorrow, the Pirates are expected to stay on their regular pitching rotation this weekend in San Diego. Thursday is an off day.

Since 1992, the Pirates have had at least one game postponed by rain in April in every season except one.

In 2006, they made it all the way to May 11 before getting their first rainout. Of the 20 rainouts in that span, 13 were home games.

? Jack Wilson's streak of 50 error-less games was snapped Sunday. Last night, Wilson muffed the first ball hit his way in the first inning, misplaying a bouncer up the middle by John Baker.

? Going into last night's game, Nyjer Morgan and Freddy Sanchez had hit a combined .343 (36 for 105) with nine doubles, four triples, 12 RBI and 14 runs scored. Also, Sanchez was atop the National League with seven doubles and was tied with Philadelphia's Raul Ibanez with 10 extra-base hits. Sanchez ranked fifth in the NL with 32 total bases.

? Ronny Paulino has played in six of the Marlins' first 11 games, though he was not in the lineup last night. Paulino began the day batting .333 (5-for-15) with a homer, a double, a triple and four RBI.
