If the current catching trend continues, Mike Rabelo will get the majority of starts this season with Matt Treanor re-assuming his backup role.
On Sunday, Treanor made just his fifth start in 16 games since Rabelo was activated from the disabled list April 11. Manager Fredi Gonzalez wouldn't say if Rabelo would continue to make the majority of the starts.
"Whoever is playing well plays. I feel comfortable with both of them," he said. "When your name's in the lineup, you play. When your name's not in the lineup, you get ready to play."
Rabelo, a switch-hitter, gives the Marlins more options.
Treanor is batting .214 in 12 games after going 1-for-4 Sunday. Rabelo is hitting .273 in 13 games.
