SAN DIEGO (AP) - Marlins catcher Matt Treanor was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday with a strained left hip.
He aggravated the injury in Monday night's win against San Diego when he tried to get out of the way of an infield single by Alfredo Amezaga. Treanor was hit on the foot by the ball and was ruled out. He originally sustained the injury during a series at Oakland last month.To take his place on the roster, catcher John Baker was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque. Paul Hoover was in the starting lineup at catcher for Tuesday night's game against the Padres.
