MEDICAL WATCH:
2B Dan Uggla (sprained left ankle) left the June 28 game, and he won't return to action until July 3 at the earliest. UT Alfredo Amezaga (tight left groin) left the June 21 game. He sat out June 22-28 and returned as a pinch hitter June 29. He still wasn't ready to start as of June 30.
RHP Burke Badenhop (right shoulder tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 14. An MRI showed no ligament damage.
RHP Josh Johnson (reconstructive elbow surgery in August 2007) went on the 60-day disabled list retroactive to March 21. He began a minor league rehab assignment June 14, and he's on track to return just before or just after the All-Star break.
RF Brett Carroll (sprained right shoulder) went on the 15-day disabled list May 23.
CF Alejandro De Aza (sprained left ankle) went on the 15-day disabled list March 30, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 26. He stopped running drills in early June because of soreness.
RHP Anibal Sanchez (shoulder surgery in June 2007) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21. He isn't expected to pitch in the majors until late July or early August.
RHP Sergio Mitre (right forearm strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 18. He threw his first batting practice session June 20. He's hoping for an August return.
RHP Henry Owens (right shoulder surgery in August 2007) went on the 60-day disabled list retroactive to March 21. He won't be back before the All-Star break.
RHP Harvey Garcia (right rotator cuff surgery) went on the 60-day disabled list retroactive to March 21 and underwent surgery April 15. He will be out at least four months.
RHP Lee Gardner (right elbow inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list April 18. He had season-ending surgery June 3.
