--LHP Andrew Miller is scheduled to make another rehab appearance Saturday for Class A Jupiter.

--LF Luis Gonzalez had doubled in four straight games going into Friday when he grounded out in his only at-bat as a pinch hitter. He has 593 career doubles, which leads active players and is 15th all time.

--On Aug. 22 in Arizona, LF Josh Willingham tripled at Arizona's Chase Field, even though television replays showed the ball cleared the fence. Asked Friday what he thought of MLB implementing instant replay, Willingham smiled and said: "I think it's a week too late."

--RHP Ricky Nolasco has pitched into the eighth inning in three of his last five starts. He is 2-0 over his last two starts, having allowed two runs in 16 1/3 innings combined, with two walks and 21 strikeouts.

--3B Jorge Cantu spoke several times via speaker phone to the Mexican Little League team that lost to Hawaii. Cantu played for Mexico in the 2006 World Baseball Classic.
