--OF Brett Carroll was promoted from Class AAA Albuquerque to take the spot of injured LF Josh Willingham. Carroll was batting .418 for the Isotopes. He was named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for the week of April 27 for going 10-for-20 (.500) with four homers and eight RBIs.

Carroll was on Florida's opening-day roster, going 1-for-8 in four games April 1-5.

--RHP Matt Lindstrom said his tight back felt better Friday. He hopes to pitch some time this weekend.

--RHP Josh Johnson (right elbow surgery) threw 20 pitches Friday in a live batting practice session in Jupiter. He will do it again Thursday.
