Florida Marlins Notes, Quotes 2009-04-16
--The Marlins on Thursday will try for the franchise's first ever three-game sweep at Turner Field.

--The Marlins are the only team that hasn't allowed a stolen base this season. Opponents have been thrown out twice, once each by John Baker and Ronny Paulino.

Part of that could be because opponents have had a tough time getting on base. Marlins pitchers had allowed opposing teams a .317 on-base percentage, fourth-lowest in the league.

On the flip side, Marlins runners are 8-for-8 in stolen bases.

--1B Logan Morrison, considered the organization's top power-hitting prospect, will be out six to eight weeks after fracturing his right thumb with Class AA Jacksonville on Friday. Morrison, 21, was named Florida State League MVP in 2008 after batting .332 with 13 homers and 74 RBIs for Class A Jupiter. The left-handed hitter collided with a runner Friday and suffered a small fracture. He was 2-for-6 with a home run and three RBIs in two games for Jacksonville.

BY THE NUMBERS: 24.6 -- Average age of the Marlins rotation, the youngest in the National League.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "That's a two-day trip for me. I'd have to pack." -- Manager Fredi Gonzalez, joking about how long it took 3B Emilio Bonifacio to run out an inside-the-park home run on opening day, 14.5 seconds.
