--The strikeouts are piling up for rookie CF Cameron Maybin, who leads the team with nine in six games. Last year with Class AA Carolina, he struck out 124 times in 390 at-bats over 108 games. Maybin is trying to adjust to his first full season in the majors, splitting time between the No. 2 and No. 8 spots in the batting order.
--1B Logan Morrison, considered the organization's top power-hitting prospect, will be out six to eight weeks after fracturing his right thumb with Class AA Jacksonville on Friday. Morrison, 21, was named Florida State League MVP in 2008 after batting .332 with 13 homers and 74 RBIs for Class A Jupiter. The left-handed hitter collided with a runner Friday and suffered a small fracture. He was 2-for-6 with a home run and three RBIs in two games for Jacksonville.
