--The Marlins won their first three games of the season, with a 6-4 victory Wednesday that completed a sweep of the Nationals. The last time the Marlins got off to a 3-0 start was 1997, when they went on to win the World Series.
--RHP Matt Lindstrom has a familiar landlord -- Nationals LHP Scott Olsen. Lindstrom is renting Olsen's condo in South Florida this season while Olsen plays his first season for Washington. Olsen is rooming with Lindstrom this week during the Nationals' series in Miami.
"He's my landlord. Isn't that weird?" Lindstrom said.
"I'm pretty much paying for his mortgage so he doesn't have to during the season, but he's not really making any money off of it. Plus he knows I keep stuff nice."
--The Marlins will have a payroll of $34.4 million in 2009, with the highest salaries to three infielders: SS Hanley Ramirez ($5.5 million), 2B Dan Uggla ($5.35 million) and 1B Jorge Cantu ($3.5 million).
