--After the bullpen's worst performance of the year -- nine runs in four innings Wednesday night -- Florida's relief pitchers arrived in the clubhouse Thursday morning to find disposable razors sitting on their chairs.

Within an hour, the pitchers shaved off the mustaches they'd starting growing last week as a morale stunt.

"Let's start May with a new look," said manager Fredi Gonzalez, who supplied the razors.

--RHP Burke Badenhop could hear Marlins fans booing him as he struggled through a five-walk performance in his most recent start.

But he knew the crowd would be friendlier Thursday when he saw sections of colorful T-shirts representing thousands of field-trip students who made up the majority of the 15,556 attendance.

"Just seeing all the little kids in the crowd, I knew nobody would boo me too bad," he said.

--1B Mike Jacobs (sprained right middle finger) and LF Josh Willingham (tight back) each missed another game Thursday, but both hoped to return to action Friday when the Marlins open a three-game series against the Padres.
