Florida Marlins: No late-inning magic for Marlins this time
Apr. 22, 2009 (Sun Sentinel delivered by Newstex ) --

Remember the old movie, The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh? Perhaps the Marlins were trying for a sequel without even realizing it over the past three days.

Today's 7-4 loss allowed the Pirates to complete a three-game sweep of the Marlins at PNC Park.

Nothing to panic about, but it's got to be frustrating for Ricky Nolasco to be 0-for-4 in quality-start attempts so far. He racked up 13 QS in his final 15 tries last season.

When he walked Nate McLouth on five pitches early in the game, you knew something was amiss. Nolasco HATES giving up walks, but he just couldn't hit his spots often enough to beat the Pirates.

Now it's back home after Thursday's off day for a weekend series with the World Series-champion Phillies. Josh Johnson against Brett Myers on Friday night.

Your thoughts?
