One encouraging sign that the Marlin still have hopes: Their starters are going deeper into games.
Eight days after right-hander Ricky Nolasco threw the organization's first complete game in nearly two years, righty Josh Johnson went the distance Wednesday in Atlanta. "We got two on this road trip?" manager Fredi Gonzalez said after Florida's 4-1 win. "Watch out."
Johnson (4-0) allowed one run on four hits, striking out eight and walking three in his first career complete game.
Johnson has worked at least six innings in six consecutive starts. And the team has won seven of his nine starts since he returned from Tommy John surgery.
