Struggling left-hander Renyel Pinto was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a left hamstring strain. The injury isn't too severe; Pinto is scheduled to pitch Wednesday for Class A Jupiter.
Manager Fredi Gonzalez said he didn't know how long the hamstring has been an issue. Pinto has a 25.07 ERA in August (seven games), allowing 13 runs on 10 hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings. His ERA since the All-Star break is 10.95 compared to 2.96 the first half of the season.
The plan is for Pinto to pitch back-to-back days. He should return to the Marlins after his 15 days on the DL.
Right-handed reliever Doug Waechter, who has not pitched since Aug. 6 because of right shoulder inflammation, was reinstated from the disabled list.
BRAVES 10, MARLINS 9: Florida overcame a 3-0 deficit, then blew an 8-4 lead. Atlanta rallied for the win by scoring four runs off closer Kevin Gregg in the ninth inning. Marlins pitchers issued eight walks. Hanley Ramirez muffed a potential game-ending double-play grounder before Atlanta won on Yunel Escobar's RBI single.
