With left-hander Andrew Miller out, the team needs a starter for Sunday's game in Miami.

Miller was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique after his start Monday night. Right-hander Burke Badenhop was called up from Class AAA New Orleans, where he was 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in two starts.

Badenhop will work out of the bullpen, and the team probably will look within the organization for a starter to plug into the rotation until Miller returns.

"We have somebody in mind," baseball operations president Larry Beinfest said Tuesday, "but in fairness to the kid and the process, we'll keep it TBA (to be announced) for now, and I anticipate it would stay TBA for a while."

Florida's other four starters are right-handers, but manager Fredi Gonzalez said he'd be comfortable going with an all-righty rotation until Miller returns.

One candidate could be left-hander Sean West, who's 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA for Class AA Jacksonville. He allowed two hits and struck out nine batters in six innings April 15 in the Suns' 3-0 win over West Tenn.

PIRATES 3, MARLINS 2: RHP Anibal Sanchez allowed a run in each of his first three innings before settling down over four more. He allowed three runs over seven innings but got little offensive help. His mistake was a hanging fastball that Freddy Sanchez hit for a home run, giving Pittsburgh its third run.
