Florida Marlins Inside Pitch 2009-04-18
The Marlins have lifted their embargo on Matt Lindstrom's availability.

Lindstrom earned his second save of the year Friday night, pitching for the first time this season on consecutive days. He pitched the ninth inning on Thursday in a non-save situation.

"I'm ready to go," Lindstrom said.

The team had been taking it slow with Lindstrom, who missed most of spring training with a sore right rotator cuff. Going into Friday, he'd made four appearances, none in back-to-back games.

Since he threw just nine pitches in a day game Thursday, Friday night was "perfect" time to bring him back for consecutive-game action, manager Fredi Gonzalez said.

Lindstrom has one save and one blown save, which came in a game the Marlins won in the bottom of the ninth, giving him the win.

MARLINS 3, NATIONALS 2 (10 innings): Starting on extra rest didn't help RHP Ricky Nolasco, who turned in the shortest outing this year by a Marlins starter. He allowed two runs on seven hits in four innings, laboring with 87 pitches. Five relievers combined to throw six scoreless innings. Cody Ross' home run with one out in the ninth tied it. LF Jeremy Hermida drove in the winning run in the tenth with an infield single.
