Right-handers Ricky Nolasco, Josh Johnson and Chris Volstad each won their first starts, posting a collective 3.06 ERA.
Volstad looked pretty good Wednesday, and he didn't even turn in the best start of the three. He went "only" five innings, allowing one earned run while striking out a career-high seven and walking four.
On Tuesday, Johnson struck out eight in 6 2/3 scoreless innings. Nolasco allowed four earned runs in six innings in Monday's season opener.
It was all good enough for a sweep of the Nationals, and the starters benefited from 26 runs and a lineup that hit .313 with 14 extra-base hits.
But the Marlins know it won't always be this easy. They play the New York Mets this weekend.
"It's a tough pace to continue," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "Good pitching will beat good hitting anytime, and we're going to run into some tough pitchers who'll shut the offense down."
Right-hander Anibal Sanchez makes his first start Friday in the series opener. And because of an off day Thursday, Nolasco and Johnson will pitch the final two games.
MARLINS 6, NATIONALS 4: The Marlins survived a shaky start and shaky ending to hold off the Nationals. Chris Volstad walked four batters in five innings, and Florida relievers walked six more, including one by closer Matt Lindstrom with the bases loaded in the ninth. Dan Uggla hit a three-run double for the Marlins in fifth inning.
