The Marlins will take it easy with right-hander Matt Lindstrom, whose back is bothering him again.

Lindstrom left Wednesday's game with a tight lower back after facing three batters, all reaching on singles. An MRI on Thursday ruled out any serious injury.

There's still a chance he could go on the disabled list if the discomfort persists. "Hopefully it'll be better by Friday," he said. "We'll just take it day by day."

He said his back started bothering him last week. Last July, he missed a few games because of back spasms on his left side that forced him to spend at least one night on the floor of his apartment.

In 11 games this season, he has logged 8 1/3 innings. The two runs he surrendered Wednesday raised his ERA from 3.00 to 5.40.

DODGERS 5, MARLINS 3: With the score tied at 3, Kevin Gregg walked Rafael Furcal on four pitches to open the ninth inning, and the rest seemed inevitable. Furcal took second on a bunt and scored on Matt Kemp's single. The Dodgers added one more on two Marlins errors.

Burke Badenhop had his best start, allowing three runs in six innings. But the Marlins were swept in a three-game series for the first time this season. Gregg suffered two of those losses, the first on Tuesday.
