Second baseman Dan Uggla is tied for second in the National League with 16 home runs, tied for eighth with 38 RBIs and has a .307 batting average.

But he was a distant fourth among NL second basemen in the first round of ballots for the All Star Game.

Philadelphia's Chase Utley was leading NL second baseman with more than 537,000 votes, followed by Houston's Kaz Matsui and the Chicago Cubs' Mark DeRosa.

"I'm not expecting to win any fan votes," said Uggla, an All-Star reserve as a rookie in 2006. "It'd be an honor to go again. It's still early, but I'm not looking into anything."

Uggla said his vote would go to Utley, who leads the major leagues with 17 homers.

"To be talked about in the same sentence with him is pretty cool. He's kind of the Rogers Hornsby of this era, I think," he said.

METS 7, MARLINS 6 (12 innings): For a Marlins team trying to show the baseball world its fast start is for real, this one hurt. Cody Ross hit two of Florida's four home runs. The Marlins overcame two deficits before blowing a 12th-inning lead. Justin Miller, Florida's seventh pitcher of the game, walked David Wright on four pitches. Wright took third on Carlos Beltran's single, and both scored when Fernando Tatis roped a double to left.
